Call For Bendy Fruit and Vegetable Ban
Euro MPs, following a meeting of the European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee, have voted to bring back a ban on bendy fruit and veg. The ban had been in place previously before it was lifted by the European Commission last year, the lifting of the ban ended decades of food waste and cut prices by as much as 40%.
Website Launches Voucher Search Facility for Local Restaurants
Moneysupermarket.com, which received 120 million visitors last year, are calling on all local and independent restaurant operators to submit their meal promotions to a new localised restaurant voucher search facility. With three quarters of diners in chain restaurants cashing in their vouchers it’s a great development for local businesses to get involved and attract more diners to their restaurants.
Promotional Vouchers Keep Diners
Promotional vouchers have proved successful for high street restaurant chains. Three quarters of diners have utilised these promotional deals within the last 12 months. The survey, carried out by Grass Roots, was based on mystery visits to the UK’s major restaurant chains. They found that more than two thirds of them used vouchers to reduce their overall spend and prevent them from having to cut back on eating out.
